the movement of John 6

I love John 6. Verse 4 tells us that the Passover feast was at hand. Jesus feeds over 5,000 men besides women and kids--showing his power to multiply bread. He walks on water, showing that he is God, I am (vs. 20) , then he gives the discourse on the fact that He is the true bread and makes this statement in vs 53: Jesus therefore said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood you have no life in ourselves....56 He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in Me, and I in him."

He shows himself to be the fulfillment of the Passover. Just as the Passover demonstrates deliverance from Egypt by God, Christ has delivered us from sin. Just as the Passover has blood and lamb, Christ shows himself to be the true lamb --the true blood shed for us. (Even the blood on the door would be similar to a cross). The Passover had wine and unleavened bread and Christ himself shows the true meaning of this. He shows in Chapter 6 that he can multiply the bread, he is true God, and thus the powerful meaning of his Eucharist--a bringing present the true sacrifice which is to be physically eaten, just as the in the Passover the lamb was not only slain, but it also had to be eaten.

1/2 Did you actually read John 6: 30-66? "I am the bread which came down from heaven" "I am the bread of life" "I AM the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh" "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you."
Yes I did read it. Jesus also said ‘I am the true vine’ I don’t think He was literally saying yes look at me I’m a plant, do you?
